With the weather again bad there were more games off at the weekend. The games that went ahead did not go Villa’s way. On Saturday next our U12’s entertain Killarney Celtic in the last 32 of the SFAI National Cup at 2pm.

Saturday 8th February

League U12 Boys at home to Clerihan - MATCH CANCELLED

League U14 Boys Cahir Park 3 - 1 Peake Villa

Villa got off to a bad start in this game and we’re 1-0 down when they gave away a penalty. They were 2-0 down after 20 minutes when Cahir scored from a corner. Cahir got their 3rd half way through the 2nd half to secure the points. Villa got one back with 3 minutes to go when Connor Murphy scored from outside the box.

League U16 Boys away to St. Kevins - MATCH CANCELLED

FAI Youth Cup Peake Villa 0 - 3 Nenagh

Villa had the wind in the 1st half and there was very little between the two sides for the 1st 45 minutes, Nenagh controlled the midfield for the most part but both sides created very little. Villa were without Billy Mc Carthy and Matty Stakelum which did not help their cause. 0-0 at the break. Nenagh got the perfect start in the 2nd half when Ryan Gilmartin’s shot was well saved by Willie Tierny but the rebound fell to Cian Darcy who scored. Nenagh went 2-0 up 5 minutes later when Ben Banaghan scored and secured the tie in the 70th minute when Ryan Gilmartin scored to make it 3-0.

Sunday 9th February

The girls had a good win against Killenaule with Emma Kelly and Missy Condon scoring 2 each.

Girls u14 away to Clonmel Celtic - MATCH CANCELLED UNABLE TO FIELD A TEAM - POINTS AWARDED TO CLONMEL CELTIC

Unfortunately for the u14 Girls with 3 missing on County Football duty and 7 called in sick with the flu we were unable to field a team. As per the rules of the TSSDL league failure to field a team is a FORFEIT and Clonmel Celtic were awarded the points.

Boys u10A away to Gortnahue

The u10A team lost the away game to Gortnahue with Jock Fogarty scoring for Villa.

Boys u10B at home to Clonmel Town C

The u10B team hosted Clonmel Town C and even though the lads played well they were unable to take their scoring chances and lost the game to Clonmel Town C.

Junior A Peake Villa 0 - 3 Clonmel Town

Villa are struggling of late in the league and went behind after Shane Flynn scored from outside the box, Villa were 2-0 down five minutes later when David Mcgrath scored after a mistake in the Villa defence. Keith Cashman made it 3-0 with a fine strike from 35 yards out. The 2nd half saw both teams have chances and they tried to play good football but it was hard with the high winds that were swirling around the Tower Grounds.
