In the 2nd half Villa started really well, and were unlucky not to score, unfortunately after working so hard our players got tired and St Kevin's finished us off with a few more goals.

 

So that ends our season with the u18s, a hardworking season and in which our players have improved again to a higher standard and we look forward to next season. The coaches would like to share a special mention and thanks to Amy Cummins our Captain, who played her final game for schoolgirls today, we would wish the result was better but Amy has been a key and dedicated player with a never give up attitude in our teams for over the last 5 years.

 

Villa got off to a great start in this fixture putting the Moyglass defence under a lot of pressure and it paid off on the 9th min with Siya Ndzingani netting his 4th in two games. Villa kept pushing for a second but Moyglass held out to keep it 1-0 in the first half, Villa had a few chances saved well by the Moyglass keeper.

The second half started off well for Villa with some great passing coming from the defence & midfield to set our 3 boys on the attack up front. All the hard work was starting to pay off with the lads showing great team spirit and the confidence of left back Niall Dunne to score a goal of the season contender on the 50th minute with a sweet volley from 30 yards out set Villa up nicely. Scott Brennan also scored a fine goal with a lob over the keeper from inside the 18 yard box and it was well deserved after the pressure he caused the Moyglass defence. On the 65th minute Siya scored himself a second. Villa missed a few half chances and Moyglass kept trying for a goal and on the 69th minute they scored from a free kick.

Our squad were all on top form today and everyone gave 100%. Best on the day even though everyone gave their all was Tony, Sean & Danny who worked their socks off to leave our defence with little to do for most of the game.
