Cherry Orchard 7-0 Peake Villa

Villa’s u13 squad travelled to Dublin to take on Cherry Orchard in the last 32 of the SFAI Skechers National Cup. Villa had the wind at their backs for the first half but Cherry Orchard played a high pressure game and did not allow Villa the freedom to get any rhythm going. On the 15th minute Villa were dealt a cruel blow when Cherry Orchard scored from a quick break, even though it looked like the player was in an offside position before passing into the box where an onrushing player gave Ronan no chance from close range to score. Villa worked hard to get the ball into Cherry Orchards half but were unable to test the Cherry Orchard keeper. After 25 minutes Cherry Orchard switched play quickly from left to right side and their no 9 made a quick break down the right side, his cross into the box was met by their left winger, who was coming back from an offside position to score from four yards out with a well taken strike. Half time 2-0 to Cherry Orchard.
