Peake Villa 1 Oldbridge 2
After two great performances in the league the boys we're brought back to earth with a bang on Sunday. There cause wasn't helped when John McLoughlin got injured during the warm up and with the regular goalie out also it was far from ideal.
Villa started brightest and went 1-0 up when Stephen Fewer put Dale Loughnane through and his shot was saved only for Oscar del Almo to get on the end of the rebound and knock it home.
The Oldbridge keeper made some fine saves and it counted as Oldbridge drew level ten minutes before half time when a needless free somehow found the net. 1-1 at half time.
Villa dominated the second half without making too many clear chances and we're made to pay the price when Old bridge attacked and the striker somehow got passed two defenders and was then taking down in the box. Final score 1-2

St Michaels 1 - 2 Peake Villa
The home team started much stronger in this league game as Villa struggled to keep with the pace of the game. Brave defending and resolute goalkeeping kept the home team at bay for much of the opening half. Villa took the lead against the run of play in the 15th minute when an exceptional strike from Jamie Donovan from 25yrds found its way to the top corner of the net. Michaels were level 5mins later when Villa conceded a penalty and continued to pile on the pressure for the remainder of the half. Villa took to the field in the second half with a different attitude and soon had the home team on the back foot for long periods. Kevin Pattan could have put Villa ahead but for a fine save from the home keeper. A few minutes later he made no mistake when given a second chance pouncing on a poor kick out to finish superbly from outside the box. The Villa defence put in a tough shift in this game with the ever solid and reliable Eoghan Tinkler between the posts, while Conor Murphy and Sean Butler worked hard in the middle with no less effort by James Dillon and Seamus Ryan on the flanks. Ben Murphy worked tirelessly in midfield breaking up the play with Ronan McGuire and Jack Ryan Casey contributing well to both defence and attack. Another excellent display by Jack Fallon up front was unlucky not to be rewarded with a goal near the end in what what turned out to be a very strong team effort.

Peake Villa A 4 St Michaels A 3.
A thoroughly entertaining and well contested game, saw Villa A win 4-3 in very windy conditions last Saturday. Playing against a very strong wind in the first half, Villa started slowly and were 2-0 down after 15 minutes, when conceding from a corner kick, and a spectacular long range effort from the St Michael's centre forward. To their credit the Villa players did not let their heads drop, but played some good football, to level the scores at half time, with a close range effort from Darragh Minogue after Robbie Stapleton's effort was saved by the keeper, and Philip Hayes then finished Ciaran Woodlock's corner to the net. Playing with the wind in the second half, Villa put the St Michael's defence under a lot of pressure, and got their reward when Robbie Stapleton finished, a cross from Scott Brennan to the net to give Villa the lead 3-2. Villa kept the pressure up and Robbie Stapleton almost scored again, when his close range shot came back off the post. Robbie did score from the penalty spot with ten minutes to go after Siya Ndzingani was fouled in the penalty box. Villa then had a scare when from a breakaway attack, the Villa keeper Sean Gleeson, had to make a last ditch tackle outside the box to prevent St Michael's scoring again. St Michael's did score with five minutes to go, when the Villa defence got caught too far up the pitch, allowed the St Michael's attack to breakaway and score. Villa held on to the win despite coming under a lot of pressure from St Michael's in the last five minutes. A great result and performance from all the Villa players.
Peake Villa B 0 Burncourt/Vee Rovers 2
Villa B lost two nil to Burncourt/Vee Rovers after a well contested game on Saturday. Playing with a strong wind in the first half, Villa started well, and Corey Moore nearly scored after only 30 seconds when his shot from outside the box was saved by the Burncourt keeper. Burncourt came more into the game after the first ten minutes and they took the lead after 20 minutes when a cross into the box was finished to the net by the centre forward. It was even between both teams until half time with the score remaining at 1-0 to Burncourt. Despite playing against a very strong wind in the second half, Villa controlled the first 20 minutes, and created several chances, and came close to scoring through attempts by Ronan Tangri, James Mocker, and Alex Molony. Burn court then created two good chances and scored from the second of them with five minutes to go, to lead 2-0. A good effort by all the Villa players who were unlucky not to get something out of the game.
Peake Villa C 1 Clonmel Celtic B 4.
Villa C team were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline on Saturday despite a very gallant effort against a strong Clonmel Celtic team. Clonmel Celtic started strongly, and created some good chances but did not score. They took the lead on 25 minutes, but Villa equalised two minutes later when Cian Cleary slotted past the keeper after good play by Villa. Playing against a strong wind in the second half the Villa players worked really hard to keep out the Clonmel attack. However, a defensive mistake with five minutes to go, saw Clonmel Celtic take the lead with their second goal. A tired Villa team, then conceded two more goals in the last five minutes to lose 4-1. A great effort by all the Villa players, against a strong Clonmel Celtic team.
U16 Girls League
Peake Villa 0 Cashel town 2.
This is a game that Villa left behind them. It was a clear case of taking you chances when you get them. Both teams were evenly matched but where as Cashel scored 2 out of the four clear cut chances, Villa were unable to find the net. The girls were match rusty but both sides played entertaining football - well done girls.

Peake Villa A 2 Cashel Rebels 0.
This was a close encounter despite the score line and it took two very good goals to win it for Villa.
Villa took the lead 10 minutes before half time when Missy Condon lobbed the keeper with excellent precision to give the girls a deserved lead at half time.
The girls played against the wind in the second half which seen Cashel come into the game more. Cashel nearly equalised mid way through the half only for a great save by Katie Gleeson in goal. The girls made it 2-0 10 minutes to go when Maria Ralph scored a well taken strike that hit the top corner. Villa would have made it 3 shortly after only for the Cashel goalie to make a superb save. Player of the game was Missy Condon.
Kilenaule B 1 Peake Villa B 0.
The girls were unlucky not to get something out of the game and are improving with every game they play. Niamh Ryan had a great game in goal for villa.
